Moby Dick
16-30 Mile Fun Run

Western Massachusetts Athletic Club

Saturday March 8, 2003 11:00 AM
Mt.Greylock Reservation Visitors Center, Lanesboro, MA

"There she blows! there she blows! A hump like a Snowhill! It is Moby Dick." Captain Ahab

Course: Snow covered roads. Up Rockwell Road from the Visitors Center to the summit of Mt. Greylock (El. 3491') and back down to the start for 16 miles, or to the summit and down the north side and return for 30 miles (or turn around earlier if you choose).
The footing is generally good (packed snowmobile trail), so regular running shoes will work fine. The weather at the top can be cold, so dress in layers, bring a water bottle, and be prepared for ice, wind and possibly dangerous conditions. Visitor's Center will be open for rest rooms, changing, and warming up!

Directions: From Rt.7 (Between Lanesboro and New Ashford ) take N. Main St. (approx 1/2 mi.) to Quarry Rd. (approx 1/2 mi.) to Rockwell Rd. .(approx. 1/2 mi.) Visitors Center is on right at end of plowed road.

No Entry Fee, No Aid, No Awards.

Subject to postponement by inclement weather - for updated info: Visit www.runwmac.com or call Bob Dion at (802)423 7537 or email dion@bcn.net
